Acer is preparing to release the new Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld, which will be the company’s fourth portable console. Unlike previous models in the Nitro Blaze series, this new device will bear the Predator branding, potentially attracting fans of Acer’s gaming laptops. It will feature an 8-inch display and Intel Arc G3 processors based on the Panther Lake architecture, optimized for portable devices.
Intel will introduce the Arc G3 platform at Computex 2026, where other handhelds based on this architecture are also expected to be announced. The company positions the new series as a competitor to AMD Ryzen Z2 solutions, criticizing them for using "outdated silicon." The Arc G3 lineup includes two variants: standard and Extreme, both with 14 cores (2 performance, 8 efficiency, and 4 low-power cores), but with different graphics accelerators.
The base version will feature the integrated Arc B370 graphics with 10 Xe3 cores, while the Extreme version will come with a more powerful Arc B390 accelerator with 12 cores. Thanks to improvements in the Panther Lake architecture, Intel’s new chips are expected to compete with AMD in mid-to-high power ranges and surpass them in low-power mode, as already achieved with the Lunar Lake platform.
