Acer Swift Blade 14: Ultra-Thin Laptop Takes on MacBook Air

Acer has unveiled the ultra-portable Swift Blade 14, positioning it as a direct competitor to Apple’s MacBook Air in the lightweight and thin device segment. The laptop weighs just 799 grams—nearly 0.5 kg lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air—while maintaining a slim 12.95 mm thickness, only 1.7 mm thicker than Apple’s flagship.

Key to its lightweight design is the partial replacement of metal components with carbon fiber in the upper lid and lower panel, reducing weight without compromising durability. The device is powered by Intel Wildcat Lake processors, including 5- to 6-core variants, with base configurations featuring 12GB of RAM.

Display options include a standard 1920×1200 IPS panel with 300 nits brightness, as well as OLED models offering up to 2880×1800 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 400 nits brightness. Note that OLED versions are slightly thicker due to design constraints. Connectivity includes three USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports (one data-only) and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Acer has not yet disclosed pricing, with the laptop slated for release in December. The company also introduced the larger Swift Air 16, a 16-inch ultra-portable model targeting the same market segment.
