Amazon Adds Sleep Studio Feature to Echo for Easier Child Bedtime Routines

Amazon has expanded the capabilities of its Echo smart speakers by introducing Sleep Studio, a feature designed to assist parents in organizing their children's bedtime routines. This new tool is integrated into the Echo lineup and offers a suite of solutions to create a comfortable sleep environment.

Sleep Studio includes audio stories, relaxing sounds, and meditations from partner platforms such as Headspace, Moshi, and Calm. Parents can curate personalized playlists and set schedules via the Amazon Kids app or website dashboard. The speaker will provide a 30-minute reminder before the scheduled bedtime to initiate the sleep routine.

For devices with lighting support, such as Echo Glow, Sleep Studio allows customizable color indicators to signal sleep and wake times. The feature is not sold separately and is exclusively available through the Amazon Kids Plus subscription, which costs $6 per month. New users receive a free trial period, and some Echo Kids models include a 6- or 12-month subscription.

According to Eric Kuhn, General Manager of Amazon Kids, the innovation aims to simplify the bedtime process, making it more predictable and comfortable for both children and parents. The tool leverages existing household devices without requiring additional purchases.
