AMD has officially announced an extension of AM5 socket support until 2029. Previously, the platform was expected to remain viable until 2027, but users can now anticipate at least two new CPU generations based on it. The AM5 platform debuted in 2022 with Ryzen 7000 processors based on Zen 4 architecture. Initially, support was planned until 2025, but with the launch of Zen 5 in 2024, the timeline was extended to 2027. Now, the company is taking another step forward, guaranteeing compatibility with new CPUs at least until the end of the decade.
