Apple Announces Siri and Apple Intelligence Updates at WWDC 2026

Apple’s WWDC 2026 developer conference will begin today at 20:00 Moscow time. The livestream will be available on the Apple Developer app, the company’s official website, and Apple’s YouTube channel. The main focus will be on updates to the Siri voice assistant, which will receive significant improvements through the integration of artificial intelligence technologies.

According to leaks, Siri will become more "conversational" and capable of performing complex tasks by interacting with various apps. The updates are based on Google’s Gemini technology, enabling the assistant to better understand context and process user requests. A standalone Siri app is also expected, positioning it to compete with AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude. Users will have the option to set automatic deletion of conversations after 30 days, a year, or keep them indefinitely.

Apple plans to integrate AI agents into the App Store, allowing users to automate routine tasks such as restaurant reservations and smart home management. The Camera app will feature a new "Visual Intelligence" section, replacing the previous control menu function. This will enable object recognition in photos using Google Image Search technology.

The Photos app will also receive Apple Intelligence-powered updates, including intelligent photo enhancement recommendations, automatic object removal, and voice-command photo editing. Apple Wallet will introduce a bill-splitting feature, allowing users to photograph receipts and send payment requests to friends or colleagues. Additionally, users will be able to create digital passes from physical tickets or cards.
