Apple Maps Adds Detailed Map of Monaco Grand Prix Circuit

Apple has activated an enhanced map of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit in its Maps service. The Detailed City Experience feature, first introduced in 2023, now includes updated details such as 3D models of buildings, track markings, grandstands, pit stops, and the finish line. Special attention has been given to Monaco’s architectural landmarks, which are displayed in both daytime and nighttime lighting.

This year, Apple has made changes to the track’s visualization: the route is now highlighted in dark gray instead of light red. Virtual race cars on the map are colored to match the current Formula 1 teams, though their positions do not reflect real-time racer standings. Notably, the Circuit de Monaco was the first Formula 1 track for which Apple created such a detailed map.

In addition to Monaco, Apple has developed similar maps for other Formula 1 street circuits, including Las Vegas, Melbourne, Montreal, and Miami. These maps are activated during race events. Apple’s interest in Formula 1 has grown since Apple TV+ became the official U.S. broadcaster of the races. For spectators and participants at the Monaco Grand Prix, Maps serves as a useful tool, providing information on road restrictions, pedestrian bridges, and even the locations of public restrooms.
