Apple Relaunches Siri Powered by Gemini: What’s Changing in the Voice Assistant

Apple is preparing another major update for its Siri voice assistant, this time leveraging Google’s Gemini technology. The announcement came during the WWDC conference, where the company outlined its plans to integrate AI capabilities into its products. Earlier, Apple had attempted to launch Siri with Apple Intelligence support, but the project fell short of expectations: features were not delivered on time, leading to legal disputes and compensation payouts to users.

The new version of Siri will introduce enhanced capabilities, such as calendar management, service bookings, and even photo analysis. However, Apple will need to address trust issues, as many users remain skeptical of AI assistants that intrude too deeply into personal data. Unlike Google, which aggressively promotes Gemini across its services, Apple may adopt a more cautious approach, emphasizing privacy and user control.

A key advantage of the updated Siri will be its integration with Private Cloud Compute—a technology designed to protect user data at the device level. The assistant is also expected to feature automatic deletion of query history, which should alleviate concerns about personal data leaks. However, the project’s success will hinge on whether Apple can strike the right balance between functionality and unobtrusiveness while avoiding the pitfalls of its competitors.
