Apple Integrates AI-Powered Siri into iPhone Camera: New User Capabilities

At the annual WWDC 2026 conference, Apple unveiled an updated iPhone Camera app featuring an AI-powered Siri Mode. This functionality allows users to receive instant object analysis and perform related actions without leaving the app.

To use Siri Mode, simply point the camera at an object and press the shutter button. The AI will recognize the image content and provide detailed information. For instance, when photographing sports equipment, the system identifies its type and specifications, while capturing a restaurant receipt automatically itemizes the order with costs, simplifying expense splitting among participants.

Apple emphasized that the new feature also offers contextual actions. For example, when photographing a dish, the AI can display nutritional information, and when capturing a device, it may suggest setup or repair options. All images and AI interactions are saved in the Siri app, enabling users to revisit them later.

The technological foundation of Siri Mode is built on Apple’s proprietary Foundation models, ensuring high accuracy in recognition and data processing. The feature will be available to iPhone users as part of the next operating system update.
