A team of researchers from Australian universities presented the results of an analysis on the implementation of a 4-day workweek in 15 companies across the country. The "100:80:100" model—maintaining full salary with a 20% reduction in working hours while sustaining productivity—proved effective in real-world conditions.
The report highlights that most participants in the experiment noted increased productivity, reduced stress levels, and improved work-life balance. Meanwhile, companies did not observe any decline in revenue or service quality. The study also found that the key to success was optimizing workflows and eliminating inefficient practices.
The authors emphasize that transitioning to this model requires careful preparation, including revising corporate policies and adapting management tools. However, long-term benefits such as reduced employee turnover and increased staff loyalty justify the implementation efforts.
The findings may be particularly relevant for IT companies, where flexible work formats have already become the norm. In a highly competitive talent market, such initiatives can serve as a competitive advantage.
