Dell XPS 13 with Intel Wildcat Lake Challenges MacBook Neo Starting at $699

The new Dell XPS 13 is the thinnest and lightest laptop in the company’s lineup, weighing as little as 1 kg with a chassis thickness of just 12.7 mm. The device is crafted from aluminum using CNC machining. Unlike the MacBook Neo, the XPS 13 features a backlit keyboard with 0.8 mm key travel and a traditional mechanical touchpad. Two color options are available: "sky" and "storm," with the latter arriving later.

The laptop is powered by new Intel Wildcat Lake processors, including the base Core 5 320 model. Later, configurations with Core Ultra 7 355 chips based on Panther Lake architecture will be available. RAM ranges from 8 to 32 GB: base models support single-channel mode up to 16 GB, while Core Ultra versions support dual-channel up to 32 GB. Storage options span from 256 GB to 1 TB, though some regions may offer a base configuration with a 256 GB SSD.

The XPS 13 features a 13.4-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, 500 nits brightness, and a variable refresh rate from 30 to 120 Hz. This sets it apart from the MacBook Neo, which lacks touchscreen support. Ports are limited to two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, upgraded to Thunderbolt 4 in Core Ultra models. The 52 Wh battery promises solid battery life, while the 2 MP camera supports Full HD recording and an infrared sensor for biometric authentication.

Dell openly positions the XPS 13 as a MacBook Neo competitor, highlighting advantages like lighter weight, faster ports, touchscreen support, and greater upgradeability. However, the final choice between Windows and macOS may depend not only on specs but also on the user’s preferred ecosystem. Sales begin in June 2026.
