GE Offers Refurbished Nugget Ice Maker with Nearly 50% Discount

US retailer Woot is offering a refurbished version of the popular GE Profile Opal 2.0 Ultra Nugget Ice Maker at nearly 40% off. The device is available for $264.99 until June 3, which is $184 cheaper than the full price of a new unit. Buyers receive a 90-day warranty.

The Opal 2.0 model produces so-called "nugget" ice—soft and chewable, which quickly chills drinks and melts slower than regular crushed ice. The device can produce up to 38 pounds of ice per day and does not require a water line connection. It can be controlled via a touchscreen display or through Wi-Fi using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice assistants.

The manufacturer has included several improvements to simplify maintenance: built-in water and air filters, as well as an alert system for cleaning or descaling needs. The package includes a metal ice scoop and a magnetic holder for it.
