GitHub Outage: Global Service Disruption Confirmed by Microsoft

The world's leading platform for hosting and collaborative development of IT projects, GitHub, has encountered a massive outage affecting users globally. Microsoft confirmed service availability issues at 16:40 MSK, noting ongoing investigations into reported performance degradation.

The disruption spans critical GitHub components, including API, GitHub Actions automation, webhooks, Issues, and Pull Requests. According to the platform's status page, approximately 20% of requests to the web interface and API result in errors. Repository uploads face the most severe impact, with archives and source code inaccessible in roughly half of all cases.

Authentication services are also compromised. SAML, OIDC, SCIM, and team synchronization services are operating intermittently.
