Google has finally officially unveiled updated icons for its Workspace suite. The redesign affects 14 popular services, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Meet, Docs, Sheets, and others. The new icons have already started appearing for some users, though full deployment may take a few more weeks—until the end of June.
The primary goal of the changes is to ensure brand consistency and recognition. At the same time, each service retains its individual characteristics. For example, Google Sheets has moved away from the traditional page image in favor of an abstract design emphasizing table cells. Google Meet has adopted a bright yellow hue while retaining its recognizable camera silhouette.
Some apps have changed minimally, with updates limited to the color palette. The company emphasized that the new icons should improve the visual coherence of the Workspace ecosystem without losing the uniqueness of each product. Pixel smartphone users will also be able to customize the appearance of icons in a "disco" style.
