Google Pixel Now Allows Custom Voicemail Greetings

Google Pixel smartphone owners can now customize personal voice greetings for the 'Take a Message' voicemail feature. The update is available in the stable version of the Phone app for users in several countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Ireland.

To activate the feature, users must update the Phone app to the latest version. A notification will then appear on the home screen, prompting them to set up a new greeting. Alternatively, users can navigate to the 'Manage Greetings' section in the 'Take a Message' settings. The feature supports recording an unlimited number of greetings and selecting one as the default.

Currently, the feature only supports universal greetings for all incoming calls. However, references to contact-specific greetings were found in the app’s code in April, suggesting this functionality may be introduced in future updates. The feature requires a Pixel 6 or newer device to work.
