Google Unveils New Android Features to Combat Motion Sickness and Enhance Accessibility

Google has announced five new Android features designed to make smartphones more convenient and accessible for users. Among the key updates is Motion Assist, which helps combat motion sickness when using a phone in moving vehicles. The feature adds an animated element to the screen that syncs with the car's movement, reducing discomfort. Users can enable it automatically and customize its appearance via the quick settings panel.

For visually impaired users, Google introduced Guided Vision, which combines a smartphone's camera with Google's Gemini AI. The tool helps recognize objects, read small text on labels or menus in dimly lit spaces, and provides voice guidance for proper camera alignment. The feature will be available on devices running Android 9 and later in countries where Gemini is supported.

Another innovation is the expanded capabilities of Find Hub, which now allows users to remember the locations of important items. Users can inform Gemini where an object is stored (e.g., a passport in a desk drawer), and the system will save this information. Photos can also be attached to simplify searches. Google Messages* now integrates with Google Keep, enabling users to share and edit shopping lists or notes directly within chats.

Additionally, Google Messages* has introduced new personalization options. Users can now customize backgrounds, colors, and photos for individual chats, while text bubbles automatically adjust to match the selected style. Similar features were introduced by Apple in iMessage last year.
