Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max: Flagship with Unique Design and 200MP Camera

The new Huawei flagship, Pura 90 Pro Max, stands out not only for its technical specifications but also for its unique design. The smartphone’s body is available in gradient shades, including vibrant purple to orange (“Orange Ocean”), as well as “Sunset Purple,” “Emerald Lake,” “Dawn Gold,” and “Obsidian Slack.” Despite its large 6.9-inch screen and 230.5-gram weight, the device fits comfortably in hand thanks to optimized ergonomics. The OLED display with a refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz delivers sharp visuals even in bright sunlight.

The Pura 90 Pro Max’s camera is its main highlight. The 200MP primary sensor features Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor technology, which enhances dynamic range. The adjustable f/1.4–4.0 aperture allows flexible light control—ideal for low-light and bright conditions. The system is complemented by a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and a 40MP ultra-wide module. In tests, the camera demonstrated high detail and color accuracy, though the “Pose Ideas” feature for pose suggestions was not always user-friendly.

Under the hood, the Pura 90 Pro Max is equipped with the Kirin 9030S chipset, which Huawei claims delivers a twofold performance boost in NPU compared to the previous generation. The 6000mAh battery supports 100W wired and 80W wireless fast charging. The smartphone runs on HarmonyOS 6.1 with a built-in AI assistant that adapts to user habits. The model is already available in China, starting at 6499 yuan (~$955) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
