Instagram* has officially launched the manual post sorting feature in profiles for all users. Previously tested with a limited audience, this option is now available in the mobile apps for Android and iOS.
Until now, posts in profiles were displayed strictly in chronological order, except for three pinned entries. Users can now long-press a post and drag it to any position in the profile grid, regardless of the publication date. Pinned posts will remain at the top.
Instagram* head Adam Mosseri announced this feature back in January of last year. At the time, he apologized to users for changes in profile design when the app switched from square thumbnails to vertical ones. In comments on the recent announcement, users noted they were also waiting for other improvements, such as a native interface for iPad.
