iOS 27 to Enhance Network Switching and iMessage Prioritization

Apple is preparing to launch iOS 27, which will introduce several enhancements designed to simplify iPhone usage. Among these is faster and more intuitive switching between Wi-Fi and cellular networks. Currently, iOS users often need to manually disable Wi-Fi via the Control Center to avoid connection drops when leaving a network’s coverage area. In iOS 27, this issue will be resolved automatically, particularly benefiting those who use wireless earbuds like AirPods during calls.

Another notable update pertains to iMessage functionality. In the new version, sending large files such as videos will no longer block the delivery of text messages. Previously, iPhones prioritized uploading bulky data over short messages under weak connections, causing delays in conversations. Now, users can continue chatting without waiting for media files to finish sending, which is especially useful in low-signal situations like during travel or at crowded events.

While these improvements may not seem groundbreaking, they have the potential to significantly enhance user comfort. Apple is focusing on optimizing core features that impact millions of users daily. iOS 27 is expected to be released in the fall of this year.
