iOS 27 Simplifies Automation Creation with Apple Intelligence

At the WWDC conference, Apple announced iOS 27 with several new features, including an update to the Shortcuts app. Users can now create automations by simply describing their desired tasks using Apple Intelligence. This eliminates the need to manually configure complex action sequences, which previously required time and technical skills.

For example, the system can automatically detect when a user leaves work, calculate arrival time home via Maps, and send a notification to a partner via Messages*. Another scenario includes launching a Spotify playlist when starting a workout in the Oura app or locating a phone at home via voice command. These capabilities make Shortcuts a more convenient tool for everyday tasks.

Beyond Shortcuts, Apple Intelligence in iOS 27 will offer improvements in other apps: contextual suggestions in Messages* and Mail, enhanced tab grouping in Safari, and image generation tools in Image Playground. The developer beta is already available, with a public release slated for July. The official iOS 27 launch is planned for the fall.
