Chinese Hackers Target Europe with New Atlas RAT Malware

A Chinese-speaking cybercriminal group has expanded the scope of its attacks, targeting European companies and organizations. In recent campaigns, the threat actors deployed previously unknown malware, Atlas RAT, along with the Atlas backdoor, indicating increased group activity.

Cybersecurity experts highlight that the new threat allows hackers to gain remote access to infected systems, execute commands, steal data, and deploy additional malicious modules. A key feature of Atlas RAT is its ability to bypass traditional security measures, complicating attack detection.

Previously, this group’s activity was primarily observed in the Asia-Pacific region, but attacks have now spread to Europe. Specialists emphasize the need to strengthen cybersecurity measures, including network traffic monitoring and updating protection systems.
