Meta* Delays Developer Access to New AI Model Muse Spark

Meta* has faced delays in providing access to its new AI model, Muse Spark, which was announced in April. Developers still cannot use the API to integrate this closed model into their projects, despite Meta* representatives previously promising a near-term release.

In April, Meta*’s head of AI, Alexandar Wang (*), stated on social network X* that the API for Muse Spark would arrive “soon.” However, according to The Wall Street Journal, the exact release date remains undetermined. A company spokesperson confirmed that API testing is underway with select partners, with a full launch expected by the end of June.

Muse Spark is Meta*’s first closed AI model, unlike previous open-source developments. The reasons for the delay have not been disclosed, but experts note that such timeline shifts could harm the company’s reputation amid fierce competition in the AI market.

Meta* is actively investing in AI technologies, integrating them into products like Instagram*, WhatsApp*, and Facebook*, while also developing hardware solutions such as Meta* Glasses. However, delays in releasing key developer tools may slow the pace of innovation adoption.
