Meta Launches Paid Subscriptions for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp

Meta is expanding its paid options for social networks by launching Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus, and WhatsApp Plus subscriptions. In the U.S., the plans will cost $4 for the first two platforms and $3 for the messenger. These subscriptions will not replace the existing Meta Verified program but will complement it with new features.

Paid plans will provide users with more granular control over post visibility and advanced audience reach analytics. WhatsApp Plus will offer exclusive themes, stickers, and an increased number of pinned chats. These tools are designed for active users looking to optimize their engagement with audiences.

Simultaneously, Meta is testing AI service subscriptions in several countries. Starting next month, Meta One Plus ($8 in the U.S.) and Meta One Premium ($20) plans, differing in usage limits, will be available in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia. Basic AI features will remain free. Public testing of Essential and Advanced plans for content creators, including profile verification and promotion tools, will follow later.

For now, the new subscriptions do not include an ad-free experience, which was briefly tested in the UK last year. The company continues to experiment with monetizing its services while keeping core functionality free for most users.
