Modix MAMA-1000: Industrial 3D Printer with 3 kg/hour Output

Modix has launched the new industrial 3D printer MAMA-1000, designed for printing large objects. The device features a Canadian-made DYZE Design Pulsar extruder, which processes plastic pellets and delivers a throughput of up to 3 kg of material per hour. The nozzle diameter ranges from 3 to 5 mm, significantly larger than standard desktop printer solutions.

The key advantage of the MAMA-1000 is its use of pellets instead of traditional filament. This not only speeds up the printing process but also reduces material costs: a kilogram of PLA pellets costs as little as $2 when purchased in bulk. The technology supports various plastic types, including nylon, and is suitable for tasks requiring high detail.

The printer supports interchangeable tool heads: in addition to the pellet extruder, the Griffin Ultra module can be installed for 1.75 mm filament. The device offers a one-cubic-meter build volume and includes features such as pellet drying systems, pigment mixing, and dual printing for support structures. The MAMA-1000 starts at $35,000, including professional installation.
