Cybercriminals have discovered a method to bypass Instagram’s* security system through AI-powered support tools. Attackers convinced Meta’s* AI chat that they were account owners, gaining unauthorized access to others’ profiles.

Affected users report sudden loss of control over their accounts. In some cases, fraudsters altered account recovery details, completely blocking legitimate owners from regaining access. Meta* has not disclosed technical details of the vulnerability but acknowledges the attacks.
