Motorola Delays Launch of Compact Android Auto Adapter MA2

Motorola has officially confirmed the delay of its wireless Android Auto adapter MA2 until November 2026. Initially slated for a May release, the device is now timed to coincide with pre-holiday shopping events. The adapter will hit store shelves just before Black Friday and Cyber Monday, making it an ideal holiday gift option.

MA2 succeeds the MA1, one of the first licensed adapters for wireless Android Auto connectivity. Its key innovation is multipoint connectivity, enabling simultaneous pairing with two smartphones. Users can switch between devices with a single button press, a feature particularly useful for family vehicles or corporate fleets.

The adapter leverages 5 GHz Wi-Fi for stable data transmission, while Bluetooth handles pairing and auto-reconnection. MA2 includes a physical power switch to prevent battery drain when the car’s USB port is active, along with an LED status indicator. Compatibility with both USB-A and USB-C ports ensures broad support for modern and older vehicles.

Priced at $39.95, MA2 is among the most affordable branded adapters on the market. Comparable devices, such as the AAWireless TWO, are significantly more expensive despite offering similar functionality. Motorola has addressed user feedback regarding the reliability of the MA1 model, promising enhanced durability for the MA2.

MA2 was first showcased at MWC 2026, where Motorola highlighted its compact design and core features. Now, consumers will need to wait until November to see if the adapter meets their expectations.
