Nvidia Unveils RTX Spark Processor for AI PCs from Microsoft, Dell, and HP

At the opening of Computex in Taipei, Nvidia announced the RTX Spark processor, designed for next-generation AI PCs. Capable of delivering up to 1 petaflop of computing power, the chip is engineered for secure execution of AI agents like OpenClaw and Hermes Agent, thanks to integration with Microsoft’s secure sandbox technology.

The first devices powered by RTX Spark will launch this fall from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface, and MSI, with Acer and Gigabyte joining later. These PCs will offer sufficient resources for local large language model execution and support over 1,000 AI-enabled applications and games, including products from Adobe, Blender, and Xbox.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang described RTX Spark as a step toward a future where users interact with PCs via voice commands rather than traditional interfaces. The company views this chip as a key to unlocking a new $200 billion market, complementing its core graphics accelerator business. Nvidia previously reported $20 billion in sales of its Vera server processors.

Despite past setbacks with ARM-based chips for Windows, Nvidia is making another push into the PC market. Microsoft will unveil its flagship Surface Laptop Ultra powered by RTX Spark as 'the most powerful Surface ever.' However, manufacturers have yet to disclose pricing and specifications, leaving questions about Nvidia’s competitive edge.
