Nvidia is ending the era of its legendary Control Panel, which has served users for over 20 years. The latest GeForce GPU driver updates will no longer include the control panel by default. The exception applies only to RTX Pro professional graphics cards, where support for the old interface will remain until all features are migrated to the new Nvidia App.
Since 2024, Nvidia has been gradually transferring Control Panel features to the Nvidia App, completing the migration of key tools in 2025, including 3D settings, multi-monitor support, and standalone driver management options. The app now offers all essential functions: performance tuning, GPU monitoring, overclocking, automatic game optimization, and driver updates.
The reasons behind the prolonged delay in updating the Control Panel remain unclear, but competition with AMD’s Adrenalin likely influenced the decision. For most users, the transition to the Nvidia App will pose no issues—all features are consolidated in one place. Meanwhile, the old panel will remain accessible via Microsoft Store in case of issues with the new app.
