Baseus PicoGo Air AM71 Review: Ultra-Thin Wireless Power Bank

Baseus has launched the PicoGo Air AM71 portable power bank, positioning it as one of the thinnest and lightest solutions on the market. With a 5000mAh capacity, the device measures just 6.9mm in thickness and weighs 105 grams, making it ideal for daily use. For comparison, similar models like the Anker Nano MagSafe are 0.8mm thicker and a few grams heavier.

Key advantages of the PicoGo Air AM71 include support for 22.5W fast wired charging, which exceeds the Anker Nano MagSafe by 2.5W. The package includes a short, braided USB-C cable known for its durability. The device also features NFC PowerSense, allowing users to quickly check the battery level by bringing it close to their smartphone via the Baseus app.

However, the power bank has some drawbacks. Wireless charging is capped at 7.5W, significantly below modern standards. Additionally, the device heats up during use, especially in wired charging mode, despite Baseus’ claims of a graphene and aerogel cooling system. The magnetic attachment for smartphones is also weaker than competitors’, which may be a dealbreaker for some users.

Baseus offers a higher-capacity alternative, the PicoGo AM52 with 10,000mAh. It supports up to 25W wireless charging (with time limits) and 45W wired charging but is twice as thick and heavy. The choice depends on priorities: compactness or greater capacity.

Verdict: The PicoGo Air AM71 is a solid option for those prioritizing minimal size and weight. However, users seeking high-speed wireless charging should consider alternatives.
