Orbio Raises $21M to Automate Hiring and Employee Onboarding

Spanish startup Orbio, founded in 2025 by former Amazon and floral service Colvin employees, has announced raising $21 million in a Series A funding round. Dawn Capital led the investment. The company develops AI agents to automate hiring, onboarding, and management of frontline employees—such as sales associates, couriers, and healthcare staff.

Orbio’s AI agents, named Maria, Daniel, and Claire, can conduct interviews, evaluate candidate fit, track performance, and facilitate daily employee interactions. According to co-founder Sergi Bastardas, the system is already used by major companies, including YUM! Brands (owner of Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell) and The Stepping Stones Group, where Orbio manages all HR processes in the U.S.

Orbio’s technology enables businesses to delegate part of their workforce management to artificial intelligence. Data collected by the agents is synchronized: for instance, onboarding results influence recruitment quality, while turnover data refines hiring criteria. This boosts HR efficiency—The Stepping Stones Group saw a 20% increase in successful hires.

Orbio’s competitors include startups like Paradox (recruitment automation) and WorkJam (frontline workforce management). However, Bastardas believes the primary competition remains outdated management methods, often reliant on manual processes and fragmented tools. Orbio plans to use the new funding to expand its team and enhance AI agent functionality.
