Why 'Dumb' TVs Are Losing Relevance: Savings or Myth?

Just a few years ago, TVs without built-in Smart features were still available, but in 2026, such models have become rare. Most manufacturers have discontinued their production, and the remaining options are either budget devices with mediocre picture quality or commercial displays unsuitable for home use.

A common misconception is that skipping Smart TV saves money. In reality, the opposite is true: manufacturers receive subsidies from Google, Amazon, and other tech giants for integrating their operating systems and apps, which lowers device costs.
