Users Criticize New Google Health: 50% Unhappy with Interface

Google recently consolidated Fitbit and Google Fit into a single service, Google Health, promising a more centralized approach to health monitoring. However, the update has faced sharp criticism from users. A survey conducted by Android Authority readers found that 51% of respondents consider the new interface less user-friendly, despite the improved visual design.

Key issues stem from a degraded user experience. Users report the inability to sort graphs, illogical data placement, and excessive text replacing intuitive visualizations. Many note that even basic metrics, like daily step counts, are now harder to locate. The AI assistant, which constantly comments on user activity instead of providing on-demand data, has particularly frustrated users.

Reddit comments echo these frustrations, with complaints about immovable data blocks, missing GPS track exports, and sleep tracking synchronization issues. Some users are even considering alternatives like Garmin or Apple Watch. Experts suggest Google ignored public feedback during testing, leading to the negative reception upon launch.

Despite the criticism, the new app has its supporters. About 23% of survey respondents praised Google Health’s aesthetics and stability. However, for most users, the update feels like a step backward, and Google must urgently refine the product to regain user trust.
