Saily: A Second Phone Number for Calls, SMS, and 2FA Without Changing SIM

Nord Security has announced an update to its Saily service, which now provides users with a full-fledged second phone number. The number operates via eSIM and supports calls, SMS, and two-factor authentication (2FA). This eliminates the need for additional SIM cards or changing the primary account when registering for services, booking hotels, or placing orders in new countries.

The key advantage of Saily is the ability to retain the same number when moving between countries. For example, a user can start with a U.S. number and later switch to a plan in Australia or another country without losing access to their line. This is particularly relevant for digital nomads, remote workers, and frequent travelers who want to avoid roaming charges and maintain their usual communication method.

The service starts at $0.99 per month, which includes number reservation. Initially, only U.S. country codes are available, but calls and SMS are supported in over 100 countries through additional packages. Incoming SMS are free and unlimited, even without an active plan, making it convenient for receiving one-time codes and notifications. Number management is handled via the Saily app, where users can track minutes, messages, and data usage.

Developers emphasize that Saily solves a range of everyday problems, from setting up a second WhatsApp account to receiving OTPs while roaming. Incoming calls are accepted globally, while outgoing calls depend on the selected regional plan. The service is positioned as a convenient alternative to traditional SIM cards for those who want to separate personal and public communication.
