Samsung Adds Screenshot Gestures and Dock Panel Customization in One UI 9

Samsung continues to develop its mobile device ecosystem by introducing new interface customization options. As part of the One UI 9 update, the Home Up app, included in the Good Lock package, has received two significant features: support for multi-finger gestures and dock panel customization on the home screen. These innovations are exclusively available for Galaxy smartphones running the latest version of the proprietary interface.

The main change is the ability to use gestures involving up to five fingers. Users can assign various actions to these gestures, including switching between apps, accessing the recent tasks menu, taking screenshots, or returning to the home screen. The three-finger swipe-down gesture, previously popular on OnePlus and other Chinese manufacturers' devices, may become particularly in demand. Until now, Galaxy smartphones used a palm swipe gesture for screenshots.

The second innovation involves customizing the dock panel on the home screen. Users can now modify its appearance, including the background image or color, adjust blur and shadow effects, and regulate corner radius. These options complement existing Home Up features, such as app folder customization, home screen grid adjustments, sharing menu settings, and widget resizing. The app also allows free rearrangement of elements on the home screen.

Samsung’s developers are not stopping there and plan to add new features to other Good Lock package apps, including Camera Assistant, Sound Assistant, and QuickStar. Updates will roll out as One UI 9 is deployed across Galaxy devices.
