Samsung Prepares Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2: What We Know About the New Releases

In the summer of 2026, Samsung plans to unveil its updated smartwatch lineup, including the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. According to leaks, the base model will retain its focus on reliability and biometric capabilities, while the flagship version will target advanced features such as fifth-generation mobile connectivity and potential non-invasive glucose monitoring.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is likely to feature an upgraded Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, optimized for on-device artificial intelligence. This will enable more accurate and faster health recommendations without relying on cloud servers. The watch is also expected to last up to four days on a single charge, thanks to improved chip architecture and energy efficiency.

One of the key innovations may be 5G support, making the Ultra 2 Samsung’s first device with this capability. 5G models are expected to debut in the U.S. and South Korea first, while other regions will receive LTE and Wi-Fi versions. Additionally, a rotating bezel similar to the Galaxy Watch Classic may be introduced, enhancing navigation convenience.

Unlike last year’s model, the Ultra 2 may adopt a dual-chip architecture, separating high-performance and background tasks. This will bring the device closer to competitors like the Huawei Watch 5 and OnePlus Watch 3 in terms of battery life. AI health assistant capabilities are also expected to expand, marking another step forward in wearable technology.
