Samsung plans to increase the prices of its flagship smartphones in Greece starting in early June. The models affected include the Galaxy S series, foldable devices Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, as well as the Galaxy FE line. Preliminary data suggests a minimum price increase of €100, though versions with larger storage capacities may see even steeper hikes.
This is not the first price increase for Samsung’s flagships in Europe. Earlier, the base models of the Galaxy S26 saw price hikes of €50–80 depending on the market. A similar situation is observed in the U.S., where Galaxy S26 prices rose by $40–100, with even higher increases for versions with expanded storage. Experts suggest that the new prices may soon extend to other European countries and the U.S.
Industry analysts attribute the price increases to heightened demand for memory and storage components driven by companies developing AI-based solutions. This has led to a shortage of components and rising costs. Samsung is not the only manufacturer facing this issue; OPPO, OnePlus, vivo, and Xiaomi have also taken similar steps.
The next Samsung Unpacked event is scheduled for July 22, where the company is expected to announce the new foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. Given current trends, it is possible that these devices will also be priced higher than their predecessors.
