Spotify has introduced a new content format—narrated articles from leading global publications. The catalog already features over 650 pieces from magazines such as Wired, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone, Vogue, and Billboard. The content is aimed at English-speaking audiences and is available in regions where Spotify supports audiobooks.
Articles last no more than two hours and are included in the monthly audiobook quota for Premium users. Those without a subscription can purchase individual pieces for $1.99, though details of this option have not yet been disclosed. The company notes that the new format will serve as a natural complement to music, podcasts, and audiobooks already available on the platform.
Spotify continues to actively develop offerings beyond traditional music streaming. Recently, the company introduced AI-powered tools for creating podcasts, audiobook playlists, and track remixes. The press release does not specify whether AI voice technologies are used for narrating articles, and Spotify representatives declined to comment on the matter.
