SwitchBot Unveils Smart 3D Fan with Battery and Matter Support

SwitchBot, known for its button automation robots, has introduced the new smart Standing Circulator Fan. The device stands out from competitors with its 3D air circulation capability—it can rotate 90 degrees horizontally and 100 degrees vertically, effectively distributing airflow throughout the room. The fan easily transforms from a desktop model into a floor-standing unit up to 100 cm tall, with assembly taking just seconds.

Key specifications include an airflow capacity of up to 9.15 cubic meters per minute, a flow speed of up to 6.1 m/s, and an air distribution range of up to 27 meters. The device runs on a built-in battery, providing up to 1 hour and 45 minutes of operation at maximum load. In the energy-saving "Baby" mode, the fan can run all night, and with an external 10,000mAh power bank, it can operate for up to four days. Charging is done via USB-C, allowing the use of standard adapters and portable power banks.

The fan is equipped with a silent DC motor, producing noise levels of 50 dB at maximum speed and just 28 dB in night mode. It can be controlled via the app, touch-sensitive buttons on the body, a remote control, or voice commands through Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri. However, Matter integration is limited—users can only turn the device on or off, without adjusting speed or airflow direction. The fan is priced at $129.99, though it often goes on sale for under $100.

Testing revealed that the Standing Circulator Fan effectively cools bedrooms and small offices but may struggle in larger spaces. The device also features a built-in nightlight and a magnetic remote holder for added convenience. The fan has already garnered user interest due to its portability and functionality, especially during hot weather.
