Vertu Unveils Luxury Foldable Smartphone with AI Agent for $6,880

Vertu, once celebrated for its extravagant phones featuring precious metals and gemstones, has returned to the market with the new foldable smartphone AlphaFold. Designed in a clamshell form factor, the device caters to business elites and affluent users. The primary focus is on artificial intelligence: the smartphone incorporates the AI agent Hermes, which integrates with popular apps and corporate systems.

Hermes can manage the interface, customize quick settings, and interact with social networks, messengers, and business services, including X, WhatsApp, Gmail, Google Calendar, and ERP systems. The agent learns user preferences, automates workflows, and consolidates data into a unified dashboard. For security, all personal data is processed locally, and critical operations like financial transactions require user confirmation.

Technically, the AlphaFold is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, an 8.05-inch internal and a 6.53-inch external LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 6,500mAh battery supports 68W fast charging. The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, an ultra-wide module, and a telephoto lens. The body is crafted from titanium and exotic leather, with a hinge rated for 650,000 folds.

The starting price for the base model with calfskin leather is $6,880. The alligator leather version costs $8,800, while the top-tier configuration with diamonds and crocodile leather is priced at $46,800. Sales began on May 28. In addition to hardware features, AlphaFold owners gain access to Vertu’s personal concierge service for arranging private flights and exclusive events.
