A Canadian user reported that his Galaxy S25 FE smartphone exploded while charging overnight. According to him, the device was charging with a third-party 20W charger and was inside a thick leather wallet case, which also contained coins. This may have contributed to overheating and subsequent ignition.

The incident occurred while the smartphone was lying on a mattress next to the owner and his son. The user woke up to the sound of an explosion, seeing plastic and metal fragments scattering. As a result, he suffered minor burns, and his child experienced psychological trauma. Firefighters extinguished the fire, but the room sustained damage and a lingering smell of burning.

The smartphone was purchased new about six months ago from a Virgin store. The user has already contacted Samsung support but has not yet received a response. This is the third Galaxy S-series device fire incident in 2024; previously, explosions of the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S24 were reported.

Experts note that such incidents remain isolated given the millions of devices sold. Nonetheless, it is recommended to use original or certified charging accessories and avoid cases that impede heat dissipation to minimize overheating risks.
