XREAL has announced the augmented reality glasses a01, the first product under the new sub-brand X By XREAL. The device weighs just 62 grams, making it one of the lightest in its class. The glasses feature an HDR10 display with 1600 nits brightness, ensuring high-quality visuals even in bright lighting.
Unlike premium headsets such as the Apple Vision Pro, the a01 is aimed at users who need portable glasses for entertainment and gaming. The device is priced starting at $299, significantly lower than professional solutions. The glasses support two viewing modes: transparent, allowing users to see the surrounding world, and immersive, creating a sense of deep engagement.
The manufacturer has paid special attention to comfort and practicality. The package includes interchangeable nose pads and adaptive hinges, as well as the option to replace the front frames. Users can even create custom accessories using 3D printing. Another innovation is the anti-shock algorithm that stabilizes the image during movement, which is particularly useful for watching content on the go.
Sales of the a01 have already begun in China, with a U.S. launch expected in July. The affordable price and focus on everyday use may attract those who are not ready to invest in expensive XR solutions.
